Gentle and Lowly: Introduction
If you’ve not heard, Karis Church is doing a fall “One Read,” and we’ve chosen the title Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortlund. This is one of the best things I’ve read in the past several years. I have little doubt that it will go down as a Christian classic (and no, I don’t throw around statements like that much). You can follow our schedule here.
Over the next three months or so, we’ll be posting some discussion questions - some thoughts for reflection - each week. Below are those for the introduction. I hope you’ll join us and read along. I’ve been so encouraged by the responses so far. If you’ve not yet grabbed a copy, pick one up Sunday FOR FREE in our Karis Church Gathering.
Though we know God loves us, sometimes we become suspicious that his patience is wearing thin or that he is harboring disappointment or resentment towards us. Have you experienced this before and why do you think that is?
Do you live with an awareness not only of Christ’s atoning work for your sinfulness but also of his longing heart amid your sinfulness? What difference does or would this make in your life?
